Westminster Presbyterian Church  has a long tradition of offering excellent pre-school educational opportunities for children in our community.  We feel there is a real ministry we can offer to preschool children in terms of helping them grow in every way.  Westminster offers programs for four age groups.  It is felt that the population of children in our community can best be served with the available facility when grouped as follows:

SCHOOL CLASSES - HOURS

All classes are offered Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

                Early Bird Hours                  7:30 am – 9:00 am (with sufficient enrollment)

Ages 1, 2, 3 and 4 yr-old Pre-K         These classes are offered two, three, four, or five days, based on enrollment.  You may choose which days. 

As children mature at different rates these ages are flexible to better serve your child.

OTHER:

Stay and Play Program:  1:00 - 5:15 p.m. Monday thru Friday (With sufficient enrollment)

TUITION AND FEES:

Tuition and fee information is available through the preschool office at 256-760-1295 or 256-856-0543 after hours.  Some scholarship assistance may be available for qualified students.

Westminster Preschool’s goal is to create an environment that will provide a variety of readiness activities to include, but not be limited to, the following:

We offer the High Reach Learning Program.

Westminster Preschool is a “nut-free” facility

In 2010 our church installed a new state-of-the-art playground for our preschool.  Dedicated in remembrance of former director Jan Becklean, and in memory of the Bruningas the playground was designed following a nautical theme.  We had always been known as “the church with the boat” as Irv Bruninga had placed a boat as a centerpiece for our playground in the seventies.  To honor Irv and his commitment to Westminster we are still “the church with the boat.”

Pre-registration for the up-coming school year begins in March.  A non-refundable registration fee ($60) must accompany the registration form to assure child is registered.  Currently enrolled students are guaranteed a place provided Pre-Registration Form and fee are received by closing registration date.  Further vacancies will be filled during the same period by members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and siblings of currently enrolled students on a first-come first-served basis.  At the end of this registration period any further vacancies will be open to the general public, again on a first-come first-served basis.
